Application: Calories AI — AI-powered calorie and nutrition tracking (the "App").
Data controller: Dzianis Maliush, an individual entrepreneur (IE) registered in Georgia, "we", "us", or the "Controller".
Privacy contact: yantra.group.inc@gmail.com
Address: Georgia, Batumi, Giorgi Leonidze Street, N 4e, Building 2, Apartment 75
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process when you use the Calories AI mobile application on iOS (and Android where available), for what purposes and on what legal bases, and what rights you have. Use of the App does not replace separate consents or in-app privacy choices where applicable law requires explicit consent (including for health-related data, camera/photo access, health-app integration, or marketing) — such consents are requested in the App or as otherwise required.
"We" and the "Controller" refer to the individual entrepreneur named at the top of this Policy acting as data controller.
Primary language. This English Policy is the official, legally binding version for international users, including the primary English-speaking market (United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada). Any non-English translation (e.g. Simplified/Traditional Chinese, Russian) is provided for convenience only. If there is a conflict between this English text and a translation, this English version prevails, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
This Policy applies to information you provide through the App and to data generated automatically when you use it (technical and analytics data). Third-party services linked from the App (e.g. the Apple App Store, Google Play, external web links) are governed by their own policies.
Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of data.
The App is designed for personal nutrition tracking and self-monitoring. You may voluntarily enter or generate data such as: logged meals and food items, calorie and macronutrient (protein/fat/carbohydrate) values, dietary goals, body metrics (height, weight, sex, age, target weight, activity level), water intake, intermittent-fasting sessions, streaks, and notes. This information may qualify as health or lifestyle-related data under applicable law and is treated with heightened protection.
Where you use the App on iOS, the on-device diary database is stored encrypted (SQLCipher).
If you use photo-based logging, you submit photographs of food, meals, or nutrition labels for automated analysis. Before an image leaves your device it is downsized and its EXIF metadata (including any GPS/location tags) is stripped. Images are transmitted to our servers and to our AI subprocessor (see 2.8 and Section 4) solely to recognize the food and estimate its nutritional content. Meal/scan images are retained for no longer than 30 days and then deleted; you may also enable an opt-out in the App so images are deleted immediately after processing.
If you enable it, the App reads activity data (e.g. steps, active energy burned) and may write back weight and nutrition (calories/macros) to Apple Health or Google Fit. This integration is strictly opt-in and can be disabled at any time. HealthKit data is used only to provide App features and is not used for advertising or sold, consistent with Apple's requirements.
Language, theme, units, reminder and notification settings, goals, favorites, custom foods and recipes, and similar choices you configure.
Subscription status, transaction identifiers, trial state, and in-app product identifiers are processed by the Apple App Store and/or Google Play and/or an authorized subscription SDK (Adapty; see Section 4). We do not collect or store full payment card numbers in the App.
Apple consumption data (iOS). For paid subscriptions purchased or used through the Apple App Store, Apple may process consumption data for App Store features such as refund assessment. Where required, we request separate in-app consent before enabling flows that share such data with Apple through Adapty, consistent with Apple's and Adapty's requirements.
The App uses artificial intelligence to (a) recognize food from photos and estimate calories/macros, (b) extract nutrition facts from label photos, (c) parse free-text and voice food descriptions, (d) power an in-app nutrition "coach" chat, and (e) generate weekly insight reports. To provide these features, the relevant input (a meal photo, label photo, text, or the context needed for coaching/reports) is processed by our AI subprocessor (Google — Gemini API). We do not use this content to train third-party models beyond what is necessary to return your result, and we instruct our AI subprocessor accordingly. AI outputs are estimates and may be inaccurate (see Section 10). Barcode lookups are performed via the FatSecret Platform API.
If you allow notifications, we process a device push token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push Notification service) to deliver reminders, streak and weigh-in prompts, weekly reports, and optional marketing messages. You can disable categories in the App or in your device settings.
Custom foods, recipes, notes, coach messages, and reports you create. Custom foods you submit may, in aggregated/curated form, be considered for inclusion in the shared food database after moderation.

We share data only with providers that help us operate the App, under appropriate agreements:
We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We and our subprocessors may process data in countries outside your own (including the United States and the EU/EEA). Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent mechanisms. Availability of the App in mainland China is subject to a separate, later phase and additional local requirements; this Policy governs the international and Hong Kong/Taiwan/English-market versions.
We apply technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit (TLS), on-device diary encryption (SQLCipher), secure token storage, access controls, rate limiting, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond to incidents.
Subject to applicable law (including the EU/UK GDPR and the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to: access your data; rectify inaccurate data; erase your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and withdraw consent. California residents may request to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do neither). You can exercise the main rights in-app (Data & Privacy → Export my data / Delete account) or by contacting us at yantra.group.inc@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it. Some jurisdictions require parental consent for users under 18; you represent that you meet the applicable requirement.
Calories AI is a wellness and informational tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical, nutritional, or clinical advice. Calorie and macro figures — including AI photo estimates — are approximate and may be inaccurate. The in-app coach is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not use the App to diagnose, treat, or make clinical decisions. If you have a health condition, an eating disorder, or specific dietary needs, consult a healthcare professional. If you are struggling with disordered eating, please seek appropriate support.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Effective date" and, where appropriate, by in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
